What is being insured?

In the event of the insurance of legal expenses, BTA compensates the following legal expenses:
  • expenses related to loss reimbursement claims if losses are not related to the failure to fulfil contractual obligations or the violation of property rights as regards land, buildings and apartments
    For example:
an apartment of the insured is flooded and the person brings an action against the guilty neighbour.
  • legal rights of an employee are violated
    For example:
an employer fails to pay the salary to the insured to the full extent or dismisses him or her without paying the due compensation.
  • in the event of tax right protection – in state administration institutions and courts
    For example:
the State Revenue Service (SRS) refuses to refund justified expenses to the insured as regards medical treatment or studies.
  • in the event legal rights of a road traffic participant are violated
    For example:
an official of the Traffic Police draws up an administrative violation protocol to the insured
  • in the event public order regulations are violated
    For example:
a penalty is imposed on the insured for listening to music after 23.00 o’clock.
  • if the criminal procedure court decides that the insured has committed a crime due to negligence
    For example:
when driving a car, an insured hits a pedestrian due to bad weather conditions and poor visibility.
  • in the event a private charge criminal procedure is initiated
    For example:
an insured suffers insignificant body injuries and he or she is dishonoured or his or her personal honour is offended.
