What should you do when an accident occurs?

If you have a pothole or open manhole related accident and it has caused externally visible damages (broken tyre or rim, damaged bumper, etc.), then:

• stay at the accident site and call 26 12 12 12 and inform BTA
• follow the instructions given by phone, e.g. wait for the Police or BTA Auto Fleet, write down the name, surname and telephone number of an eyewitness, etc.
• no later than within 1 (one) working day after the accident, show the car to a representative of BTA and submit the required documents.
• if a tachograph is installed in your vehicle, submit to BTA the tachograph disc that was in the tachograph during the accident and the tachograph discs for the 48 hours prior to the accident.
• do not repair the car until BTA approval is received.
