Insurance of all risks of construction and assembly works

Rapid growth of construction rates and volumes increases the requirements for quality of construction works, effectiveness and safety of work; consequently builders, organizations financing construction works and commissioners of works want to be protected from the diverse eventual construction risks:

• risk of fire,
• risk of explosion,
• stroke of lightning,
• falling of piloted aircraft or parts thereof on the property,
• damages from extinguishing a fire,
• natural disasters – floods, storms, hail, snow, earthquake, etc.,
• flooding caused by damaged pipes,
• malicious damage caused to property,
• theft,
• burglary,
• poor execution of construction works,
• lack of skill and accidental negligence during construction works,
• breakdowns of construction machinery and equipment,
• failure to comply with the delivery periods for materials and parts for assembly,
• failure to observe completion deadlines,
• collapse of constructions as a result of low quality materials or building design errors, etc.

For the construction process to take place without unplanned interruptions and adverse financial consequences, the builders or developers must insure the planned construction and assembly works. Therefore BTA offers to insure the construction risks at the design and construction stages and to provide cover during the construction works warranty period at the operational stage:

• construction and assembly works envisaged in the design;
• construction materials on site or in transit to the site;
• building site equipment and temporary engineering communications;
• equipment and machinery required on the construction site, including auxiliaries and spares that are part of set for the former, tools and control equipment;
• the liability of builders for damage to property or bodily injuries to third parties on the insured construction site or at its direct proximity, including damage to the environment or nature caused by the building works;
• building designs developed by building design organisations, the liability of designers and engineers during the separate stages of preparation and research works .

The customer may opt to include insurance of construction experts against accidents during construction in the package of all construction insurance risks.

Insurance of financial liabilities against the developer, the builder or the tendering organisation is offered separately.
